The IHFDA Subgroup for Data and Analytics (DA) works to support members through standards development, metric development and usage, and creation of useful references. This presentation outlines the investigative process through the lens of metrics, using the material developed by the DA subgroup. Attendees will gain insight into a range of scalable tools, metrics, and processes that can be implemented immediately or used to enhance the investigation process.

Michael Van Ornum
Michael Van Ornum is a Pharmacist and Registered Nurse with over 30 years experience in healthcare. The last ten years at Sentara focused in the areas of medication safety and controlled substance surveillance. Mr. Van Ornum is a member of IHFDA and has recently assumed responsibility for system-wide surveillance covering twelve hospitals within the Sentara healthcare system.
