Process improvement for diversion prevention is at the forefront of every hospital’s agenda. A multi-step process improvement project was conducted to improve unresolved discrepancies and to dispense more controlled substances from ADCs. As a result of the project, total unresolved discrepancies decreased by 36% over a six month period compared to previous year and there was a 64% increase in the number of narcotics dispensed from ADC in one year. This presentation will review the actions taken during this improvement project and discuss next steps to continue the efforts.
