Senior Project Manager on UT Southwestern’s Opioid Safety Team

Shelby began her career as a licensed Occupational Therapist, joining UT Southwestern in 2016 and providing bedside care to patients across diverse clinical needs. Her passion for quality and patient-centered care led her into leadership in 2020, when she became Assistant Manager for Acute Therapy Services. In that role, she advanced key initiatives in quality improvement, onboarding, education, regulatory readiness, and compliance—always with a focus on elevating the patient and employee experience. 

 In 2023, Shelby brought her clinical insight and operational expertise to the Opioid Safety Team within the Quality & Operational Excellence department. Today, she leads strategic efforts to strengthen safe controlled-substance practices across the organization. Her work is driven by a commitment to safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement in support of the UT Southwestern community. 

Shelby is also a proud recipient of UT Southwestern’s Gold-level APEX Award, recognizing her dedication to excellence.
