Board Nomination
The IHFDA Board is opening the nominations for three Board positions. Board members will represent the organization’s membership. They will be responsible for duties as assigned by the Board which may include being involved in the annual conference, regional training, and managing the social media presence for the organization. Each of these positions has a 2-year term beginning January 1, 2024, and ending December 31st, 2025.
Only members who have been members in good standing for a minimum of two years are eligible as nominees for the open Board positions. A member shall be nominated for office by another member in good standing or by self-nomination. The nomination period is open now through June 30th, 2023. Nomination of candidates for the Board will take place electronically, if you are a member in good standing and wish to nominate someone for the three positions please use the form below.
IHFDA requires that its executive board members and committee members or committee chairs avoid any conflict or appearance of a conflict of interest between their own interests and the interests of the IHFDA organization in decision-making within the organization, its suppliers, contractors, and all other organizations or individuals doing or seeking to do business with the organization. Therefore, individuals who work for or represent vendors, suppliers, or contractors that market or sell products and/or services to IHFDA members are not eligible to be elected for an IHFDA Board position with voting privileges.
For elections, each person who is presently a member shall be eligible to vote in the election of officers. Voting will be opened once the Board approves the final slate of candidates and will be made available electronically in the month of August. If any board position remains open after elections the Board may appoint someone to fill the vacancy until the next election or decide by majority vote to leave the position vacant and delegate responsibilities to another Board member. Results of the election will be shared at the annual conference in September.
